Fundamentals of Digital Project Management #5

On April 9, the "Fundamentals of Digital Project Management" course entered its final technical stage. In this fifth session, 77 participants gathered to explore one of the most critical, yet frequently overlooked, phases of the project lifecycle: "Project Closure and Evaluation."

Under the guidance of Ronald Balimunsi, the session demonstrated that finishing a project goes far beyond simply delivering the final product. Embedded within the Planning and Implementation Framework, Ronald explained how a structured wrap-up is essential for measuring the actual success of any digital initiative.

The participants learned how to work with two essential tools for this phase:

  • Evaluation Metrics: How to analyze the original KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to verify whether the project's goals were truly achieved.

  • Lessons Learned: The formal process of documenting both successes and failures, turning practical experience into a valuable blueprint for future projects.

Meanwhile, on the DigiSkill e-learning platform, the corresponding module challenged students to look back and critically evaluate their own practical exercises. This hybrid approach ensured that the young learners wrapped up the session knowing exactly how to close a project with professional rigor, extracting maximum value from every step taken.

This initiative is part of the DigiSkill project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.
