In an era of rapid economic shift, digital literacy is no longer just an additional asset on a resume—it is the single most powerful catalyst for professional mobility. On July 1, 2026, YMCA Uganda reached the halfway mark of its series with its sixth Digiskill webinar: "How Digital Skills Can Change Your Career Path." The session brought together 26 determined participants looking to redefine their professional trajectories in the modern economy.

The masterclass was led by Mr. Kalyesubula Michael, an expert in career development and digital transformation. Mr. Michael delivered a compelling, forward-thinking roadmap, demonstrating how strategic upskilling can unlock remote opportunities, enable career pivots, and elevate professionals into high-demand international roles regardless of their starting background.

The session provided participants with actionable strategies for career transformation:

  • Mapping High-Demand Digital Competencies: Identifying the core technical and hybrid skills that global employers and modern markets actively seek.

  • Strategic Career Pivoting: Practical steps for leveraging existing background knowledge while layering on digital competencies to transition into new industries.

  • Building a Future-Proof Personal Brand: How to showcase newly acquired digital capabilities online to attract remote work, freelancing clients, and international collaborations.

Mr. Michael’s practical advice empowered attendees to view digital skills as a lifelong investment in personal freedom and adaptability. By equipping participants with the mindset to continually upgrade their technical toolkits, the session demonstrated how young professionals can take direct ownership of their career growth.

As the 6th of 12 webinars hosted by YMCA Uganda, this event officially completes the first half of their series, reinforcing the Digiskill mission to build an agile, digitally capable, and resilient global workforce.
