DIGISKILL WEBINAR SERIES: YMCA COMPREENSIVE INSTITUTE UGANDA #2

Technology reaches its highest value when it is used to uplift communities and solve real-world social challenges. On April 1, 2026, YMCA Uganda hosted the second session of its Digiskill series, shifting the tech conversation toward grassroots impact with the webinar: "Digital Tools for Youth & Community Projects." The event brought together 23 participants passionate about driving social change through modern digital ecosystems.

The session was led by Dr. Abdal Kasule, an expert deeply well-versed in community development and digital enablement. Dr. Kasule brought a highly practical framework to the virtual stage, guiding young leaders on how to move past generic software usage and strategically implement digital toolkits designed to make local projects more visible, organized, and sustainable.

The masterclass focused on equipping the youth with a localized digital toolkit:

  • Project Coordination & Mapping: Utilizing accessible project management and data-gathering software to track community needs, organize volunteers, and measure field results accurately.

  • Digital Storytelling & Resource Mobilization: Strategies for using online communication networks and digital platforms to amplify a project’s mission, attract stakeholders, and secure vital funding.

  • Sustaining Grassroots Engagement: How to build borderless online spaces that keep youth volunteers connected, motivated, and aligned with long-term community goals.

Dr. Kasule’s insights effectively proved that digital proficiency is a vital pillar of modern civic leadership. By mastering these digital frameworks, the participants—the future leaders of Uganda—are now equipped to scale their community initiatives, transforming local ideas into highly structured, visible, and impactful social programs.

As the 2nd of 12 webinars from YMCA Uganda, this event beautifully balanced technical upskilling with social responsibility, advancing the Digiskill Erasmus+ mission of preparing inclusive, digitally capable global citizens.
