Leadership and Teamwork in Digital Projects #1

On April 16, the second DigiSkill Interactive Open Online Course, "Leadership and Teamwork in Digital Projects," officially kicked off. In this first session, 135 participants gathered on Zoom to explore a fundamental shift in managing modern initiatives: "The Role of the Digital Youth Project Leader."

Under the expert guidance of Anna Rodríguez Casadevall—a consultant and researcher with over 15 years of experience in intercultural cooperation and education—the session provided a powerful "Introduction to Leadership in Digital Projects." Anna demonstrated that leading a digital team goes far beyond managing tasks; it requires building inclusive, culturally aware, and highly collaborative frameworks.

The session introduced participants to the core responsibilities of a digital leader through two main pillars:

  • The Digital Mindset: Understanding how leadership styles must adapt when guiding teams across different digital environments and distances.

  • Building Trust Early: The foundational strategies needed to keep a remote team motivated, connected, and aligned with the project's vision from day one.

Meanwhile, on the DigiSkill e-learning platform, the corresponding module challenged the 135 learners to look inward and assess their own leadership styles. This hybrid approach ensured that the participants wrapped up the first week with a clear understanding of how to step up as modern, empathetic digital leaders within their youth work communities.

The DigiSkill project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.
